About Us

Henki Robotics Logo
Born from the aspirations and dreams of two young robotics engineers, Henki Robotics was established in Finland, in September 2024.

“Henki” is a word that comes from the Finnish language, and it can be roughly translated to “spirit” or “breath of life”. We both felt that “henki” is the best word to describe our motive, and what drives us forward as robotics experts.

Through our company, we want to provide our extensive expertise in robotics and work on meaningful projects that aim to make a positive change in the world. At Henki Robotics, we believe that robots do not have to be just lifeless, cold machines and that through the touch of our team of motivated engineers, they can become true human companions!

Our Team

George-Cosmin Porusniuc

Co-Founder & Robotics Software Developer

George is a well-versed robotics engineer with over six years of experience, four of which he spent developing custom hardware and software robotics solutions with ROS, Python, and C++.

He holds a B. Eng. in Computer Engineering from T.U. “Gheorghe Asachi” of Iasi, Romania, and an M.Sc. in Information Technology from the University of Eastern Finland. Before working as a robotics engineer, he was briefly involved in research and academia, where he focused on efficient CNN architectures and reinforcement learning.

He loves working with robots, as he feels that robots are the best way for him to put all his skills to good work. One of his other big passions is teaching and passing on the knowledge he has gathered over the years to new minds, who are ready to take on the challenge of becoming the engineers that will shape the future of robotics.

When asked about his way of working he says that he loves “talking, laughing, and making things work”. When he’s not knee-deep in interesting projects, he likes to make others laugh by pursuing his hobby as a stand-up comedian.

Janne Karttunen

Co-Founder & Robotics Software Developer

Janne co-founded Henki Robotics to leverage his extensive knowledge of robotics and make a broad impact on advancing the field. He has experience leading mobile robot software from concept to a fully realized product, giving him broad expertise in areas such as autonomous navigation, task and fleet management, deployment, and architecture.

Always eager to learn and explore new technologies, Janne has a particular fondness for the Python programming language. He takes pride in crafting clean and efficient code, and ROS 2 users might recognize him as the author of Turtle Nest, Task Manager, and Parameter Configuration open-source projects.

Janne considers every project a new adventure, and he loves the challenge of finding creative solutions that bring robots to life!
